my stained glass window

I loved the stained glass window was super fun math's challenge for me. I found thing's exciting and boring and also some easy the boring part was fractions the easiest was the fractions. The hardest was measurement but it was boring as well so that made it a challenge but not a maths one but a mental challenge to me  staying focus is hard. But I overcame the challenge so now I have finished I feel much better and I have learnt a lot from this .``

Seb's reflection on breakthrough

1 I was proud of the ads i made .i like that people did not mind it was not top quality.People thought that it was an ok movie film.

2 breakthrough because i had to find things that i liked doing at the start of the term. I also had to look at what i thought would be fun to do.

3 My feedback was this. Cool spd movIe i really liked it but you could do better filming. Try making the camra less shaky it was really good otherwise.

4 nothing really it was really good otherwise it was awesome. It made me proud that i made this film.5 i would like to thank a teacher that helped me film and edit and give me ideas

Learning this week

The past couple of days have been busy busy getting to know one another.

Yesterday we were building knowledge about Kowhaiwhai patterns, what the different designs and colours represent. We applied this knowledge to make our own patterns, which share stories about our families and interests. To determine what size our kowhaiwhai patterns would be, a team of Hub 8 learners worked together to problem solve based on the number of learners and the approximate size of the waka. 

Our painted squares will later be put onto our class waka along with our class treaty values.  Stay tuned to see the final product! 

This week we've also been doing some sports rotations, getting to work together in teams and challenging ourselves to learn new skills. 

Basketball Relay Games 

Today we were practicing some maths games that we will be using throughout the year. Some of us got stuck in the learning pit, but collaborated and were able to problem solve to work out the math puzzle. The puzzle was called 24, where we had to use multiplication/division, addition/subtraction to make the four numbers on the card equal 24.
